Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a Navratna Central Public Sector Undertaking, is a premier aeronautical industry of South East Asia, with 18 production / overhaul / service divisions and 9 co-located R&D Centres spread across the country. HAL’s spectrum of expertise encompasses design, development, manufacture, repair, overhaul and upgrade of Aircraft, Helicopters, Aero-engines, Industrial & Marine Gas Turbines, Accessories, Avionics & Systems and structural components for Satellites & Launch Vehicles.
HAL, over the last six decades, has grown progressively into an integrated aerospace organization with the indigenous design & development of the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH-Dhruv), Intermediate Jet Trainer (IJT) & Light Combat Aircraft (LCA-Tejas). The ongoing major projects & programmes include ALH (both in military & civil roles), IJT, LCA, Pilotless Target Aircraft (PTA), SU-30MKI & Hawk-Advanced Jet Trainer. Aligning with the emerging future requirements, HAL has conceptualised the indigenous development of Light Combat Helicopter (LCH), Combat Air Trainer (CAT), naval & trainer versions of LCA, Multi Role Transport Aircraft (MTA), Medium Lift Helicopter (MLH) etc.

QUALIFICATION:
(a) Management Trainees (Technical)
o Graduates in Aeronautical / Chemical / Computer Science / Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Metallurgy / Production Branches of Engineering from recognized Institution / University.
o General / OBC candidates should have secured a minimum of 65% marks and SC/ST candidates should have secured a minimum of 55% Marks, in the aggregate, of all the Semesters / Years OR corresponding CGPA Ratings / Gradations in their Engineering Degree Examinations.
o Engineering Graduates in the Aeronautical Branch with minimum aggregate 60% marks (for General / OBC) and 50% marks (for SC / STs) would be eligible to apply.
o The total maximum marks and total marks obtained for all the Semesters / Years will be summed up to arrive at aggregate percentage.
o No rounding off will be done & no weightage will be given to any particular Semester or Year.
o Candidates who have passed their Engineering Degree in required Discipline and obtained the prescribed percentage of Marks as on 22.04.2008 need only apply. Candidates who have appeared in their final year or whose results are awaited are not eligible to apply.

(b) Management Trainees (Human Resource)
o University Degree with Post Graduate Degree / Diploma / MBA / MSW / MA (2 years Full Time or 3 years Part Time / Correspondence Courses) in Human Resources / Personnel Management / Industrial Relations from recognized University / Institution.
o General / OBC candidates should have passed both the University Degree and Post Graduate Degree / Diploma with a minimum of 60% Marks in the aggregate of all the Semesters / Years or corresponding CGPA Ratings / Gradations.
o SC / ST candidates should have passed both the University Degree and Post Graduate Degree / Diploma with a minimum of 50% Marks in the aggregate of all the Semesters / Years or corresponding CGPA Ratings / Gradations.
o The total maximum marks and total marks obtained for all the Semesters / Years will be summed up to arrive at aggregate percentage.
o No rounding off will be done & no weightage will be given to any particular Semester or Year.
o Candidates who have passed their Graduation as well as Post Graduate Degree / Diploma in Human Resources / Personnel Management / Industrial Relations and obtained the prescribed percentage of Marks as on 24.04.2008 need only apply. Candidates who have appeared in their final year or whose results are awaited are not eligible to apply.
AGE LIMIT:
o As on 01-04-2008 not above 28 years for General candidates. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years in respect of SC/ST candidates and 3 years in respect of OBC candidates.
o Candidates belonging to the OBC Category are required to produce recently obtained Community Certificate in proof of their Community at the time of Interview (not older than 6 months as on 01-04-2008), stating that they do not come under the creamy layer, from the Competent Authority, in the prescribed format.
o In respect of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), upper age limit is relaxable by 10 years, which will be over and above the relaxation admissible for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC.
o For candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period of 01-01-1980 to 31-12-1989, upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years.
o Relaxation will be extended as per rules in respect of Ex-servicemen/ Commissioned Officers/ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least 5 years of Defence service and have been released on completion of assignment.
APPLICATION FEE:
o Rs.200/- (wherever applicable), which is non-refundable, is to be sent in the form of crossed Demand Draft drawn on any Nationalized Bank (preferably Indian Bank or State Bank of India) in favour of ‘Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’, payable at Bangalore.
o Candidates belonging to SC / ST / PWD category are exempted from payment of Application Fee.
o The Demand Draft should have been obtained for the post of Management Trainees (Technical) between the period
16-04-2008 and 22-04-2008. (For Management Trainees (HR), the period between 16.04.2008 and 24.04.2008 ).
o The Candidate is required to write his / her Name and the Application Number allotted, behind the Demand Draft and forward the same by Registered / Speed Post / Courier to reach the following address latest by 29th April 2008. The envelope should be superscribed as "Selection of Management Trainee".

SERVICE BOND:
Selected candidates shall execute a Bond to serve HAL for a period of 5 years (excluding the training period). In case of breach of the service agreement, the candidate is liable to reimburse the actual training expenses (including recruitment expenses, all the remuneration paid and expenses incurred during the training period), subject to a maximum of Rs.3,00,000/- (Rupees Three Lakhs only).
TRAINING AND STIPEND:
Selected candidates will be imparted Theoretical / On-the-Job Training for a period of One Year. During the training period of 52 weeks, the Trainees shall draw minimum emoluments of approx. Rs. 21,900/- p.m, comprising of Basic Pay of Rs.10,850/- + Variable DA (79.4% of Basic Pay at present) + Canteen Allowance. Besides, Bachelor's Accommodation, CCA would also be admissible during the training period, depending upon the place of posting, as per rules (The pay is due for upward revision w.e.f. 01.01.2007).
SELECTION PROCEDURE
Eligible candidates will have to appear for an Objective Type Competitive ONLINE Test at their own expense, on the date, time and venue, which will be mentioned in the Admit Card. The candidate has to download his Admit card from HAL website. Admit cards will not be sent either by post or by e-mail. The ONLINE Test will be held at major Cities and the Candidates may choose the option of preferred online test location. Candidates will be short-listed for interview based on the performance in the ONLINE Test. Selected candidates would be posted as Management Trainees in any of the Divisions / R&D Centres / Offices, based on the requirements of the Company.
ABSORPTION:
On successful completion of the training, the Trainees would be absorbed as Engineers / Officers in Grade-II Scale of Pay. (Pay Scales are due for revision w.e.f 01.01.2007). On absorption, the candidates will be eligible for Basic Pay, DA, Canteen Allowance, CCA, Company Accommodation / HRA and the allowances like Professional Development Allowance, Magazine Allowance, Washing Allowance, Conveyance Allowance / Reimbursement, Profit Linked Incentive, LTA / LTC etc. Other benefits like Leave, Medical Facilities, PF, Gratuity etc would also be admissible as per Company Rules. At present, CTC for Grade-II Officers is Rs.5.28 lacs per annum.
HEALTH:
Applicants should be of sound health and should meet the medical standards prescribed by the Company. Appointment of selected candidates will be subject to receipt of satisfactory medical report from the Company’s Doctor as per the Medical Standards of the Company.
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
o Only Indian Nationals need apply.

o Applicants serving in Government / Public Sector organisations should produce `NOC’ at the time of Interview failing which they will not be permitted to appear for the Interview.
o Candidates may please note that the training is scheduled to start in the last week of June 2008 and make necessary arrangements for joining on the date that would be specified, as the training is imparted in groups.
o Appointment of selected candidates is subject to verification of Caste and Character & Antecedents, as the case may be, from the concerned Authorities, as per the rules of the Company.

o Applications will not be accepted through any other mode.
o The last date for submission of application for Management Trainees (Technical) is 22-04-2008. The Website will be kept open till 2400 hours on 22-04-2008 for this purpose. In case of Management Trainees (HR), the last date of submission of application is 24.04.2008 and the website will be kept open till 2400 hours on 24.04.2008.
o Candidates are allowed to apply only once and application once submitted cannot be altered under any circumstance.
o Candidates are required to possess a valid E-mail ID, which is to be entered in the Application Blank, so that intimation regarding downloading of call letter for ONLINE test / Interview can be sent.
o HAL will not be responsible for bouncing of any e-mail sent to the candidates. However, necessary information will be hosted on HAL’s Website from time to time.
o Candidates other than SC/ST and PWD are required to furnish the details of Demand Draft in order to register their application Online.
o On submission and acceptance of application, the System will generate an Application Number. Candidates are advised to retain the Application Number for all future correspondence (including downloading admit card etc).
