‘Catch’em young’ is the mantra to nurture young talent in the
field of technology. With an aim to mould the future crop of
aero-engineers, HAL Airport Services Centre (ASC) had organised the
first-ever aero-modelling course for schoolchildren, which ended
here on September 16.
Addressing the gathering during the
valedictory function, Mr B.K. Pany, General Manager of ASC, said:
“This is the first such course for schoolchildren. I believe that a
good designer has to be a good dreamer. Children have fresh dreams
and ideas. I’m sure these children will become great aircraft
designers in the future. Such classes will be arranged at regular
intervals.”
The course was conducted at the HAL
Heritage Centre and
Aerospace Museum.
There were 15 students in the first batch and 15 sections of the
subject were covered by professional instructors from the field.
During the valedictory function, the
students arranged displays of various aero-models made by them.
There was also interactive session between the students and
aero-science experts from HAL pertaining to the subject.
