For material procurement, any of the following modes of tendering is resorted to :

• Limited Tender
  
• Proprietary Tender
  
• Open Tender
  
• Single Tender
  
• Spot Tender
  
• Global Tender

Generally, late / delayed Tenders are not entertained. The Tenders are accepted in sealed envelopes with 'Tender Number' and 'due date' superscribed on it. The Tenderers should quote their best competitive rates treating 'HAL' as the most favoured customer.

In the case of purchases from foreign sources, Indian Agents are not entertained and no commission is payable. Should it be known, subsequently, of involvement of any Indian Agents, HAL reserves the right to terminate the contract forthwith.

HAL prefers 'Direct Payment' terms rather than other modes such as Advance Payments, Letter of Credit, Sight Draft etc.,

Being in the high-tech Aeronautical Industry, procurement is preferably made from OEM's or their authorized distributors. The airborne items shall be covered by Release Notes / Certificates of Conformity / Airworthiness from OEM.

Time being the essence of contract, HAL believes in Tenderers adhering to the committed delivery schedules.
