For over seven decades, Overhaul Division has been a leading Military Aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul organization in India. Spread over an area of 10 hectares of land, our maintenance facilities comprise of 5 Hangars and 16 Independent Bays exclusively for offering MRO services to aircraft and accessories. All hangars are equipped with modern Ground Support, Ground Handling Equipment and Testers conforming to the DGAQA specifications.  We also possess a runway adjacent to our Division convenient   to conduct Taxi Checks, Flight Trials etc.

With such extensive and efficient facilities, we are able to provide total Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Support to aircraft ranging from Piston Engine aircraft to the State-of-the-Art aircraft like Mirage 2000.

Apart from regular Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul, we also cater to special component level structural repairs on airframe like Tail Plane, Flaps, Under-Carriage Door, Engine Bay Door, Air Intakes, Fin, Rudder, Bird Hit Repairs on Fuselage and Wings, Honeycomb Panel, Integral Fuel Tank Repairs and Replacement of Flexible Fuel Tanks. Our capabilities include Aircraft Major Structural Inspection/Repair, Defect Investigation/Repair, NDT Repairs, Estimation of CG on modified aircraft, Paint Removal and Painting of Aircraft, Nose Cone Repairs, AOG Repairs etc.

We also undertake the compliance of the Company Special Technical Instruction (CSTI), Company Service Instruction (CSI) and Compliance of Modifications as per Standard of Preparation (SOP) for Enhancement of Role and Life of the aircraft components and to ensure Reliability. The Engineering Support and Maintenance activities are rendered by a host of highly skilled technicians and qualified Engineers trained at various Original Equipment Manufacturers.

Overhaul Division provides maintenance support to Military aircraft at various Customer bases of IAF and also the Kiran and Sea Harrier Aircraft at Goa Naval base.

In addition to the maintenance of aircraft at Outstation Bases, the Division also undertakes the repair of Aircraft, Engines, Retro-Compliance of Modifications and Snag Rectification at the Operating Units on ‘as and when’ required basis.

Overhaul Division undertakes the fabrication of Ground Handling Equipment for Aircraft. We also supply spares for Aircraft and Helicopters based on Customer Demands.

Overhaul Division has state-of-the-art facility and infrastructure for MRO of over 900 types of rotables of aircraft and helicopters viz., Kiran, Jaguar, Mirage, ALH, Hawk, Cheetah/Chetak (Alouette/Lama), Sea Harrier, Sea King, and HPT32 etc. Highly standardized Quality Control Measures and Operating Procedures as per AS9100B are employed to ensure shortest delivery time at optimal costs.

Advanced Non Destructive Testing and Measurement Techniques are applied. MRO of Aircraft and Helicopter Accessories is carried out by highly skilled and experienced workforce trained at various Global Aerospace companies.

 , Radio Altimeter, and Weather Radar for different types of aircraft.Vital safety equipment such as Ejection Seats and its various sub-systems like Parachute Pack, Jettison Jack, PEC, Drogue Gun and Barostatic Time Release Units are serviced and repaired in a separate bay.

Separate facilities are also available for MRO of accessories pertaining to Environment Control System, Wheels and Brakes, Landing Gear, Fuel and Electrical accessories like Alternators, Generators, Actuators, and Pilot Grips etc.

The Division has the know-how and expertise to overhaul different types of Radial and in-line Piston Engines. It has repaired and overhauled around 6000 Piston Engines, which include Radial Engines like R985, R1340, R1830, R2000 and in-line Engines like Gypsy Queen, Cirrus Major, Continental and Lycoming Engine variants and their accessories.

We have facilities to carry out Fuel Contamination Checks, Metrological Tests, Calibration of Instruments, Paint Removal and Painting of Accessories as per DGAQA Standards (more on facilities).

Different Training Courses like Fuel Leak Rectification of Aircraft, Maintenance Practices on Rescue Hoists etc. are conducted for various Customers.

Overhaul Division supports the sister Divisions of HAL by providing servicing facilities for Aerospace Accessories required for different projects executed by them.

• Upgradation of 61 Jaguar Aircraft to DARIN III (Display Attack Ranging and Inertial Navigation) Standard progressively by 2018.

• Manufacturing of Radome for Light Combat Aircraft.

• Manufacturing of Radome for Jaguar DARIN III Upgrade.

• Establishment of Repair and Overhaul facilities for 208 Hawk Aircraft Accessories progressively by December 2012.

• Facility Establishment for Major Servicing of HAWK Aircraft by 2014-15.

• Setting-up of Infrastructure for Assembly, Integration and Testing for UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) through Transfer of Technology.

• Mid Life upgradation (MLU) of 51 Mirage Aircraft with state of art Avionics progressively by 2020-21.

• Series Upgradation of Jaguar Re-engineing to achieve high thrust. Project is expected to start from 2015-16.
