Flying accident involving Chetak

    There was a flying accident involving a Chetak aircraft, VT-EIV of the HAL Rotary Wing Academy (RWA), that occurred at HAL Airport at 0900 hours on 27 Aug. 10. The aircraft was being flown by Air Cmde ROJ Assey (Retd.), (RWA Instructor) and Captain Virendra Singh (Indian Army) was the pupil under instruction. The aircraft was in hover and about to take-off when it impacted the ground and was substantially damaged. Both pilots suffered minor injuries. The matter has been reported to the DGCA, who will conduct the inquiry. HAL will render all assistance that may be required.
