The Division at present is Manufacturing & maintaining Avionics Systems for fitment on the Shamsher(Jaguar), Bahadur(MiG-27M Upgrade), OJAS(Su-30MKI), VAJRA(Mirage-2000), TEJAS(LCA), Shamsher(Jaguar upgrade), SITARA(IJT) and AJT-HAWK(AJT) aircraft, which are manufactured by the Aircraft Division of the Bangalore Complex and Nasik Division of MiG Complex respectively.  The Product Range of the Division comprises of the following Systems:

 

Jaguar And Jaguar Upgrade:

Inertial Navigation System (INS), Head up Display System (HUDWAC), Laser System  & Combined Map Display System (COMED) etc., Gyros & Accelerometers for INS & other Control Systems Digital Map Generator (DMG),  Head Up Display (HUD) and Multi-Functional Display (MFD). 

 

Mig-27 M & MIG 27 Upgrade:

NEW WESTERN PROJECTS

a)  The Division has set up facilities for the following projects:

 Digital Map Generator Manufacturing and Depot Level Maintenance facilities for Digital Map Generator

 (DMG) for Jaguar, MiG-27 Upgrade and SU-30 MKI aircraft under license from   M/s ELBIT, Israel. DMG

 Provides digital images & navigation & mission data for interface with main aircraft computer.

  • Displays moving digital map on MFD.

  • Generates and implements temporary and permanent symbology.

 

 

Head Up Display System: Manufacturing and Depot Level Maintenance facilities for Head Up Display (HUD) for Jaguar and SU-30 aircraft under license from M/s ELOP, Israel and maintenance of MiG-27 UPG HUD. Electro-optical device that projects flight information on a combiner glass for pilot’s head-up viewing. Information symbology is superimposed on the pilot’s external field of view.

  • Displays Aircraft Symbology in various modes.

  • Symbology including basic flight information along with specific weapon aiming and systems related data.

 

Multi-function display (MFD)  is  a small screen (AMLCD) in aircraft cockpit with bezel having multiple switches for display of information in desired configuration. Production facilities for manufacture of Multi-Function Display (MFD) for SU-30, Jaguar and MiG-27 Upgrade aircraft under license from M/s THALES Avionics, France.

CLA   

 

 

The Camera and Lens Assembly (CLA) is mounted on MOSP for day operation and is used for obtaining high-resolution pictures of the target area in daylight. In order to obtain a close-up of the target area CLA is fitted with zoom assembly. Pictures of the target area are collected using Charged Coupled Device (CCD) camera.

FLIR

 

 

The Forward Looking Infra-red (FLIR) is mounted on MOSP mainly for night operation and is used for obtaining black and white video images of the target area during night or hazy/cloudy conditions. The FLIR camera provides thermal images in the spectrum range 3-5 ΅m. In order to obtain a close-up of the target area FLIR has provision for electronic zoom. Pictures of the target area are collected using IR Objective lens and thermal image detector. The Image and Video-processing unit process the signal from thermal sensor unit and convert to standard TV video signal. The signals are transmitted in real time on the system Downlink (DNL) channel.

OEPrNK –30Mk-03 complex of Su-30MkI aircraft provide functional integration of on-board radio electronic equipment for weapon use and aircraft control in all flight and Navigation modes following are main tasks:-

 

General Task:-

  • Management of information control cockpit field (ICF) to provide pilot avionics and pilot-aircraft equipment interfaces.

  • Management of data exchange between aircraft.

Combat Task:-

  • Detection, Identification and tracking of aerial ground and surface targets by passive thermal –imaging, TV and radar aids.

  • Data generation and supply to guided missiles for their preparation.

1.1 System Panel (PS-5-03)

 

SYSTEM PANEL (PS-5-03)Control panel PS-5-03 is meant for input of parameters

into mission computer both on ground and on flight, providing

solution for operating modes of OEPrNK-30MK-03, display of

various parameters produced by OEPrNK-30MK-03.

a) In computer analogy it is just like a computer

screen of 6’’ x 5’’ with attached keyboard. Keyboard

 is used for input the information and screen to

display the information entered by keyboard as

output by mission computer.

b)    Basically the information is waypoints and

update way points.

1.2 SBKV-2V-1

 

SBKV-2V-1 is inertial navigation system of strap-down type and use in aircraft as a sensor for determining and delivery of.

  • Angles of roll and pitch.

  • Gyroscopic and gyro-magnetic heading.

  • Components of angular velocity along axis of mounting of article.

  • Components of linear velocity along the three mutually perpendicular orthogonal axes.

  • It constitutes 2 Dry tuned gyro and 3 Accelero and one computing block.

  • Gyro has 2-degree of freedom hence they can measure angular movement in all three directions.

  • Three Accelero are mounted in three direction perpendicular to each other (i.e. in X, Y & Z direction for initial condition).

Accelero outputs provide the information about linear acceleration in each direction, and Gyros provide angular movement information of Accelero directions. With the help of computing block we compute the actual movement of aircraft in three directions X, Y and Z. with respect to initial point with (0.0.0)

 

1.3 Limiting signal system (SOS-2-7-1):

 

It is electro mechanical unit ensures measurement, calculation,

formation & supply of:-

  • Angle of Attacks / slip measurement.

  • Normal overload measurement.

  • Calculation of limits values of attacks / slip angle, normal over load and indicated airspeed.

  • Shaping & delivery of warning signals about approach of actual value of True angle of attack, normal overload of A/C to their A/C value.

  • Shaping & delivery of warning signals about approach of geometrical altitude to dangerous values, about exceeding of permissible mass of aircraft during flight, about imbalance of angles of attack form right and left sensors.

LIMITING SIGNAL SYSTEM (SOS-2-7-1)

 

1.4 Air data computer (SVS-2Ts-U-30MkI):

 

Operating of SVS is based on measuring static (P static), P pitot pressures and converting them into digital codes. This system is mean for measurement  of following information:

  • True pressure Altitude (H true)

  • Mach. No (M)

  • True air speed (VTAS )

  • Indicated Air Speed (VIAS)

  • Outside air temperature (TOAT)

  • Vertical speed.

AIR DATA COMPUTER ( SVS-21TsU-30MKI)

 

1.5 Coupling and data conversion Block (BSPI-6-03):

 

This unit is meant for information conversion and communication. All the units of OEPrNK-30Mk-03 connected through this block. It ensure correct exchange of information between all units. In case of failure of main mission computer, this article work as a stand by computer. This unit perform data by using mil-1553bBL2S $ AR INC 429 Bus.

 

COUPLING & DATA CONVERSION BLOCK( BSPI-6-03)

 

 

 1.6 Optical detection and Ranging station (36Sh-01)

 

Article 36Sh-01 consists of three blocks.                      

  • Monoblock

  • Power supply unit

  • Correction block (correction of error from changing alignment)

Following modules of Art 36Sh-01 are bought out items:

  • Micro-cryogenic system

  • Photo Receiver

  • Fairing, shield.

Article 36Sh-01 is meant for:

  • Searching detecting and tracking of airborne targets IR detectors.

  • Measurement of range to close air targets and ground targets.

  • Guidance of LASER guided missiles.

  • Provide target designation.

1.7 Helmet Mounted Target Designation system (SURA) :

 

SURA is Opto-electronic unit. Article SURA is meant for close air combat and for determining the coordinates of visually observable targets by movement of the head of the pilot in azimuth and elevation direction.

1.8 Inertial Measuring Block (IIB-1):

 

Inertial Measuring unit is meant for determining and sending of components of linear acceleration Ax, Ay, Az and component of absolute angular velocity  Wx, Wy and Wz.

This unit has two dry tunned Gyroscopes and three servo accelerometers. The signal provided by this unit are used for positioning the RADAR antenna.

1.9 Reprogrammable Memory Block BRP-3 :

 

Re-programmable memory Block

BRP-3 is meant for input of flight task. It is known as flight data transfer unit (FDTU). It has flash card (20MB) for information carrier. It is meant  for transmission, computation, & record of information necessary for solving the task of OEPrNK during pre-flight preparation & during flight.

 1.10 Complex power supply unit (KBP-1) :

 

Complex power supply unit KBP-1 is meant for:

  • Switching ON/OFF the electric supply circuits of system and units of the complex.

  • Conversion of 115V, 400Hz into 36V, 400Hz & 26V, 400Hz  for supply of units.

  • Pressures illumination by regulated voltage 0 to +28V & 0 to 115V, 400Hz.  

 

COMPLEX POWER SUPPLY (KBP-1)

 

2. Complex signaling system (KISS-2-10M-1): 

  • KISS is meant for carrying out the following functions:

  • Determination of un-serviceability of system of aircraft up to blocks at operative types of technical servicing and expanded checks by analyzing the information coming to KISS.

  • Inspection of equipment and system of A/C in flight by analyzing the information coming to KISS    from equipment and system of A/C and analog sensor of A/C.

  • Supply of correlated information as per result of “In flight check” to FDR.

 

3. Alarm warning and advisory signaling system (SAS-6-11M):

 

Emergency signaling system, SAS-6-11M is meant for warning to pilot with the help of light signals about failures and conditions system and aggregates of A/C.

4. Automatic Air intake control system (ARV-40A)

 

Automatic air intake regulating system ARV-40A is meant for controlling the position of air by-pass panel of two different air intake of A/C.

5. Icing Signaling Device (SO-121):

 

SO-121 is meant for delivery of electrical command “ICE” about the presence of ice condition on signal panel and switching on - off heaters in automatic control system of A/C in case of appearance of ice.

c)   SSFDRs:

After successful completion of design & development approval, production of indigenously developed SSFDR for Jaguar DARIN-II, LCA, MK-1 & IJT Aircraft started.
